Simple ways to supercharge your business
If you only make one new year’s resolution this year, resolve to supercharge your business with these life-changing tools and tips:
Get Superfast broadband
With more and more business being conducted on line, there’s nothing more hair pullingly frustrating than a slow internet connection. For the
e-tailer it can also kill a potential sale. But while superfast broadband undoubtedly boosts connection times, it~can seriously boost productivity within your organization.
For designers and those working with large files, superfast broadband users benefit from speedier upload times, helping to limit downtime and boost output.~Superfast also makes connecting with customers and suppliers through VoIP and video conferencing easier, reducing those buffering and streaming problems that suck. The speed efficiency superfast brings also enables users to work remotely and reduce travel costs, and speeds up uploading and accessing files from the cloud.
Outsource for innovation
The main benefits of outsourcing used to be cost savings based on labour~arbitage, but according to Christian McMahon in OutsourceMagazine.co.uk that’s all changed.
The benefits of outsourcing are now seen as an opportunity to “access scarce skills, expertise and the latest technology,~[bring] cost reduction, [turn] capital expenditure into operating expenditure, and to concentrate resources on core business objectives.”
This view was reflected in a recent Gartner survey in which only 19% of CIOs researched said they have the right skills within their department to support innovation and agility.
Outsourcing to access new innovation and acquire advanced technology solutions can therefore be the best way to stimulate business growth.
Ditch the 3G for 4G
4G got~off to a slow start which is ironic when it’s all about ‘speed’. That said one-in-five Britons plan to upgrade to 4G within year according to an article in~The Telegraph, with Britain helping to lead the way.
Giving users faster access to the internet than 3G, 4G~has multiple benefits but one of its most popular is the way it enables users to pitch to clients (more reliably) via a tablet or smartphone using presentations stored in the cloud. Files can also be stored on the go without the need for weighty laptops or wires. Streaming videos from the internet~is also a breeze.
In an article by online blog Broadband Choice, O2's Chief Solutions Architect Steve Pluta claims 4G super-fast mobile broadband can help drive collaboration too in the way it supports activities such as file sharing and video conferencing. “4G makes it easier for mobile workers to stay in touch with colleagues back in the office while out on the road, by boosting upload and download speeds on 4G-enabled devices”.
