Anomaly Settings
Anomaly settings in Site24x7 provide options toto add thresholds for deviation percentage to report anomalies.. This helps to update the deviation percentage in order to get the desired anomalies. The severity of an anomaly event can be determined based on the deviation in the attribute's value from its normal behavior. Site24x7 determines the severity of an anomaly on two levels.
Anomalies generated based on deviation percentage
The first level is to check the percentage, which indicates the deviation of the attribute value from the baseline values. Depending on the deviation percentage, a specific anomaly score will be assigned to the event.
- Customers can configure a minimum deviation percentage for each anomaly severity. These configurations are used in data collection to generate anomalies with appropriate severities. "Info" is the least severe of the three severities. Any anomaly with a lesser deviation than the minimum deviation percentage of the Info severity will be dropped or ignored.
- If no deviation threshold is configured, the default values in the anomaly settings will be displayed, and will be used to generate anomalies.
Scoring method used for anomaly severity
The severity of an anomaly can be altered by other correlated anomaly events in the customer's environment. By default, the scoring methodology is enabled for all anomalies. This can increase the severity of an anomaly by correlating it with an anomalous monitor. If the scoring methodology option is disabled, then severity will be assigned to an anomaly only based on the deviation percentage configurations.
Anomaly Settings
Configure the deviation percentage for each severity to generate anomalies.
- Info severity deviation: The Info severity deviation stands for the minimum deviation percentage. Choose the percentage of deviation or, if you're not configuring any value, the default minimum deviation percentage (20 percent) will be chosen.
- Likely severity deviation: The Likely deviation stands for the medium deviation percentage. Choose the percentage of deviation or, if you're not configuring any value, the default minimum deviation percentage (50 percent) will be chosen.
- Confirmed severity deviation: The Confirmed severity deviation stands for the maximum deviation percentage. Choose the percentage of deviation or, if you're not configuring any value, the default minimum deviation percentage (80 percent) will be chosen.
Scoring Method
Apply the scoring methodology to determine the anomaly severity: Choose yes if you wish to apply the scoring method.
